Details about the Palm and HP WebOS tablet have been leaked but HP stated that that’s just the tip of the iceberg. Tech web site Engadget initially stated that it received information that the WebOS tablet will be launched in September but now it says that the launch can be sooner as March.
HP is set to hold a WebOS event on February 9. During the event, HP will announce more details with regards to the product. HP is planning to release two tablets. These are Topaz and the Opal. Topaz has a 10 inch screen similar to the Apple iPad. The Opal is smaller with a 7 inch screen.
There is conflicting information with regards to the launch of the HP tablets. The Topaz is said to be out in March. But there are also reports that state that the Opal will be out in September and the Topaz will come a few months earlier.
Specs of both tablets are not available but most likely they will sport a 1.2 GHz processor and a large amount of online storage space. People are speculating that HP is lowering the cost of the unit by decreasing the size of the local flash drive.
