YouTube-to-Achieve-2-Billion-Video-Streams YouTube is celebrating the day according to which the company released its first beta version of YouTube five years ago. More than seven months ago the company celebrated one billion downloads.

According to a co-founder of YouTube, Chad Hurley, YouTube is providing an opportunity to participate. It is a video platform, due to which one can not only distribute as well as upload videos, but also share and find them. The two billion downloads only prove that the company has a potential to go further.

One should admit that two billion video streams is a large number. But people usually spend only 15 minutes a day on the site, which is considered to be not so much if compare it with 5 hours a day of watching TV.

In fact, it has not been even planned to receive the scale that the company has today. As a matter of fact, YouTube was making attempts to create a video solution that was based on its own frustrations. Although the company managed to achieve a lot, still it has a lot to go ahead.

As a matter of fact, the site was purchased by Google at the end of 2006. The search giant spent $1.65bn.

YouTube has a slogan known as “Broadcast Yourself.” It may mean that with the help of the site users are able to express themselves. The first person that used the site was Jawed Karim. He posted a video, called “Me at the Zoo,” which lasted 19 seconds. The video was uploaded on April 23, 2005. Even now you are able to view it.
