Yahoo Enhances Search Makes Results More Useful

After all the changes that we have seen from Bing and Google, Yahoo really just barely stayed the same.  Plenty of news, gadgets on the homepage and of course, the search bar.  Well, Yahoo has finally taken a large step into the future, just like Bing and Google did recently, and decided their search results should be a useful part of search.

Yahoo is making their search results more useful to the person searching by making the information “pop” right up and allow the user to find and share said information faster with others.  Yahoo was always about the “overall experience” and the new search is going to be a large part of that.  You are now going to see more detailed information especially when searching for entertainment or celebrity related information.

One cool new app that I found to be useful was one that allows a Netflix subscriber to add a movie to their queue right from the Yahoo search results page.  Now if I am looking for information about a movie that I want to see, I can also add it, if it’s available, via the Netflix app.  These cool new features are also available on the mobile version of Yahoo where users are getting a “faster, more sophisticated” experience built on HTML5 technology.

In the US you will see the new features rolled out soon with the change made globally sometime in 2011.
