According to an interview with BBC, Yahoo CEO, Carol Bartz, is giving Google advice on it’s future. Why wouldn’t this catch my attention? The BBC interviewed the CEO and I quote;
“Google is going to have a problem because Google is only known for search,’ said Ms. Bartz. ‘It is only half our business; it’s 99.9 percent of their business. They’ve got to find other things to do. Google has to grow a company the size of Yahoo every year to be interesting.”
Now, remember that Yahoo hasn’t really done much over the last 5 years FOR SURE, and really has only made a brand from the get go. Free email, websites and personal websites really aren’t going to pay the bills forever, right? I know that Yahoo has many other services, but what gives the CEO of Yahoo the right to say that Google needs to diversify?
Isn’t the step into the mobile market good enough? Does she know what Android is? How about Google Chrome, or Google Buzz, has she heard of those? I just think it’s strange that the CEO of a company that can’t get anywhere fast, especially when it comes to beating Google, can just throw advice around like this?
PCWorld has the article in more details, but I just wanted to throw this one out there quick while it was still fresh on my mind. What do you think about Ms. Yahoo’s advice to Google?

What? I found this article in my blogs in todays news section and got interested to read this. How dare Yahoo can say that to Google. Don’t they know that Google has lots of tools. I will believe to Yahoo if they can show me a Yahoo Map that can beat Google Map and Google Earth. How about the adsense, how about the adwords, how about the google docs, Google is only for search? Yeah, it is true, for the people who is blind in exploration of everything. Don’t they know that more than 80% of internet users or searchers is using Google as their search engine? And the rest is using bing and yahoo. Oh my! So funny and pity Yahoo.
It is truly embarrassing when someone tries to sound like they know more than they do (my bro in-law is king of doing the same). She might consider catching up to 2010 in the business world. I use Gmail, Google android and (what seems like ) a million other Google features everyday. I can’t imagine a life without Google.
Goggle is a huge search engine and that is about it,and yes Yahoo, has a sech engine but more than just that, something Goggle needs to mimic.
And Yahoo is known for failure – bravo.
Does anyone Yahoo any more?
Google TV ! is coming too
LOL.. I guess she is so wrapped up in saying something that she just threw out some rhetoric, reminds me of Sarah Palin in the beginning of her campaign.
Anytime I follow a Yahoo link or post it ends up being around two years old and I get there via Google. My favorites are Google Chrome, Google Earth and Google Maps.
Last point; who is still taking the fight to China, Google or Yahoo?
This is insane. If I were a CEO of a major company like Yahoo or Google I would watch what I say. You have to realize too that people bait these high profile figures all the time so it’s not uncommon to have these blurbs pop up from time to time. Like the time E. Schmidt of Google went off on Privacy and boycotted CNET. Ridiculous. Google has done much more than Yahoo outside of search. What has Yahoo done besides continue with a stupid hub-type search.
whats yahoo?
Oh what a pity.
You (YaHOO) should not be scared from why goole is known.Einstein hasa good vision about the words which ceo pronounced: “If A is a success in life, then A equals x plus y plus z. Work is x; y is play; and z is keeping your mouth shut.”
This quote tells two things
1.You should keep your mouth shut if you do not know what to say, also if you are CEO
2.The are certain things that Google does and believe me there are far more successfull than their search engine.
What a heap of rubbish this article is. Not even news. She should have been ignored. Why? Because google has a thousand more times diversity than Yahoo. GoogleTV Dektop box, blogging, google-scholar, google shopping, free software. Yahoo, just shut the hell up!
No body can stand against Google because it’s a “Aladdin Ka Chirag “.
