Speaking is very much easy and faster when compared to typing a message in a mobile phone. Application developers have noted this and are introducing a Speech-to-Text app for the smartphones. Motorola Droid joined in this recently. Motorola Droid gets a ShoutOUT app from Promptu Systems Corporation.

This application is the first speech texting app developed for the Motorola Droid, an Android-powered smartphone. In terms of accuracy this ShoutOUT app beats the functionality Google Voice with its Android 2.1. It syncs with Android SMS client. It also uses Smartword, Promptu’s editing tool. Using this tool, users can choose the word alternatives that are prescribed. Voice commands are used for addressing the text messages and this is the  impressive part of Motorola Droid.

Giuseppe Staffaroni, CEO of Promptu said that Motorola ShoutOUT is really great for texting. You can text on the go with this app if your hands are busy for typing. Instead of the awkward typing process this speech-to-text is really intuitive and natural.

Promptu is known for its accuracy and it claims to build its applications with their sppech recognition technology. A personal acoustic model is assigned for each and every user during the registration process. This is done for maximizing the accuracy of their applications. Motorola ShoutOUT speech recognition software is a server based software and it is 100% automated. It ascertains the privacy of messages by shutting down the human intervention during the message transcription creation.

Message exchanges done by the recipient, full integration with messaging service and voice addressing are the features that are included in this application. Thumbnail images can be assigned for the contacts in the phonebook and the users can access the outgoing and the incoming messages with a single touch. Due to the introduction of this app users can drop the general way of message typing.

On April 26 the Android Market will introduce the Motorola ShoutOUT in the stores.
