Sony Appears Close to New ‘Hack-Proof’ PS3

Rumors say that Sony will soon come out with a brand new PlayStation 3 unit equipped with installed security measures that are supposed to protect it from being compromised through hacking.

Unnamed sources put out recently that this new PS3 will have a 300 GB hard drive and will be priced at £186.99.

The rumors come at the same time as when Sony is lowering their PS3 prices all over, which shows they are making room for this new, unhackable console.

The company kept hackers from its PlayStation Network; however, they were able to put out information on how users could get around the controls on it. The jailbreak even let users ban other users from the PSN. Sony hasn’t commented on this so far.

They are ready for a legal fight against the PS3 hackers after they took well-known PS3 hacker George Hotz to court. Hotz has come up with about $10,000 in legal aid from the general public. Sony could be waiting to see how this fight will end before they debut the new PS3 console.

The possibility of Sony debuting the PS4 is a ways off, according to the company’s President Kaz Hirai. He added that he thought the PS3 would continue to rise in value and that because of that, coming out with a new PS4 anytime soon isn’t even something they are considering. They are instead concentrating on developing the PS3.
