The way things are posing against RIM, it is obvious that either RIM or those seedy opponents will be victorious. Just a couple of weeks ago, RIM was brought down through a buckshot that was landed by the Arab telecommunication authorities.
The agenda behind the whole fiasco was to let Arab authorities have access to RIM’s overseas servers. Things didn’t go in a smooth direction and RIM is still at the last end of those sour negotiations. But hey, that’s not the whole story.
Lately, the situation just grew intensely grave for RIM. The company is now having arguments with the Indian telecommunication authorities over the same matters. The Indian government hasn’t disclosed any specific details but rumor has it that RIM has submitted some proposals.
First off, Indian authorities need access to RIM’s servers. Those servers will be monitored by Indian Intelligence and Security Firm due to terrorist threat and risk factors. Secondly, Indians are demanding for the feasibility of solutions offered by RIM, that they be assessed and THEN put into operational state.
In the coming few days, that specific proposal by RIM will be analyzed by the Indian authorities. The country’s Ministry of Home Affairs has 60 days to give an update on the proposal. (Oh boy, that’s 60 days of scrutinizing “wait”)
Further down the list, we’ve got Indonesia and Lebanon. Both countries are making demands according to their political and geographical needs. It looks like, it’d be a long race for RIM before the company officials can take that much needed rest.
