 Researches-Developed-HyperSafe-Against-Blue-Pill Morpheus wasn’t joking around when he offered a Blue Pill to Neo, but the story never ended there and things went on with the Red Pill. Figuratively speaking, people underestimated this “Blue Pill” thing, for two reasons;

- One – It was just a movie
- Two – There’s nothing real and Blue Pill, Shmue Pill, there’s nothing out there…

Recently, I was going through some latest articles on Tech Niche’ and my gaze was fixated on this new malicious rootkit threat, by the same name – AKA The Blue Pill. So the rabbit hole does exist after all eh?

Anyways, two hard working researchers from NC State University have developed a – software that can provide solid protection against Blue Pill. Known as “HyperSafe”, this software can enable self protection, with an added benefit of guarding the system against self injecting code snippets.

Both of these students decided to go pro with the HyperSafe program, by releasing a research paper on it. It is a Lightweight Approach to Provide Lifetime Hypervisor Control Flow Integrity and the big day is due on May 18, when both these guys will be talking about their program.

As of this moment, the HyperSafe program is only available in Beta versions and it works fine with BitVisor and Xen. Although, things are not going to remain like that and there will be final version out soon. There are no plans of commercializing this technology and selling it to some big company out there for a couple of million dollars. We know that, any potential buyer will make a few tweaks and earn billions through this thing easily.
