An Unopened Game from Nintendo called Stadium Events fetched a nice $41,300 on eBay. Recently we had an article on our site that another person had sold Stadium Events game with the console for $13,105. This one has actually set a record for the most expensive video game sold. When Stadium Events was made only 2000 copies got released but due to a recall, most games were sent back except 200. Currently it is believed that there are about 10 in existence.
The seller Dave purchased the unopened Copy of Stadium Events about 20 years ago. After they brought the game home, soon they realized that they needed a pad to play the game. They went back to the store to get the pad so they can enjoy the game, but they were told that the pads were recalled. Lucky for Dave, he never returned the game but the game ended up in Dave’s basement. After Dave heard recently that the other copy sold for $13,105, Dave knew he was sitting on a gold mine and he quickly listed his unopened game on eBay.
Since this game is factory sealed, it makes the game so much more valuable. Ask any game collector and they will estimate this game to be easily worth over $50,000 thousand dollars. The auction attracted over 115 bids and ended on February 26th at 8:10pm. Starting price of the auction was set at only $0.99 but within hours the auction was at $10,000. By the end of February 17th – (2nd day of auction) the auction was at $14,000 and more and more bidders were finding out and starting to place more bids. From this point forward, well, it’s all gaming history now… The auction ended at $41,300 on a game they paid $29.99 for 20 years ago. That has to be one of the best investments of all time.
