HTC introduced both its newest high tech Android smart phone, the Sensation 4G, and its new mobile media video rental/purchase service, HTC Watch, this week.
The phone will come out in Europe in the middle of May at the same time as one of HTC’s new tablets, the Flyer. They will then be available in the U.K, Germany and other places in the area in June. The video service, HTC Watch, will work on both these devices.
HTC Watch will offer more than 500 titles and users can either rent or buy the videos, which can then be watched on up to five HTC devices.
Both the phone and the tablet will come out in America sometime later in the summer, with the Sensation 4G being unique to the T-Mobile HSPA + network.
The Sensation’s 4.3 inch LCD screen is perfect for watching the HTC watch videos. The phone also features an 8 megapixel back facing camera and can record HD 1080 p video. It also will have a Video Trimmer application that will allow you to edit the video.
The Sensation will also debut another new service – a new version of HTC Sense, which is their custom Android interface.
Another new smart phone that HTC just put out on Verizon’s 4G LTE network is the Thunderbolt. It’s been selling very well since it came out, even outselling the iPhone 4 in some of Verizon’s stores.
HTC did not release the prices for either the Sensation phone or the HTC Watch video, but says it will give them out when it’s closer to the release dates.
The HTC Sensation is their second announced device that will have a dual-core processor, the 1.2-GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon. Their upcoming Evo 3D will also have it, but wont be out until June.
