This week, Sprint debuted the new HTC EVO 3D, which will be the first EVO to be able to both record and play video in 3D using glasses-free technology. The phone is set to be released this summer.
The HTC EVO 3D is the latest phone in Sprint’s line of smart phones. The new version looks like the original EVO handset. It has a 4.3-inch display, 4G connectivity, a Qualcomm Snapdragon dual-core processor, and dual cameras. It works on the Android Gingerbread operating system
The main difference between it and the original EVO is that one of the two cameras on the new version records in 3D. There is a toggle switch to allow users to change between 2D and 3D. The 2D records in 1080p and the 3D records in 720p. The handset is said to be very strong and sturdy and the touch screen is said to be very responsive and brightly lit.
EVO representatives say that it isn’t exactly like recording or viewing a regular 3D movie because the images appear somewhat different, as if they are floating off the screen instead of seeming like they are sticking you in the face.
A recent press release for the new phone boasts that it can be used for things like a real estate agent filming a virtual tour of a house for a potential buyer, or even for dads to be able to see their child’s home run in 3D if they missed the game.

This is going to be one cool phone with 3d video. 3d is the future and the sooner developers and electronic makers realize this the quicker we can advance in 3d technology. great job htc although would love to see some of the videos this phone will be capable to making in 3d.
3d camera in 720 is a good start. What we really we want to see is if current EVO current owners will be stuck with 2.2?
