Microsoft Shows Off Office 2010

John Sukowaty 05/13/2010 1

At an event in New York this week, Microsoft officially launched Office 2010 to corporate users.  With some freebies for customers and mobile users, the new Microsoft Office 2010 will be aimed at the corporate customer.  In the latest update for the Office software, there are updates to Word, Outlook, Excel and PowerPoint.

Besides the updates to the new software, Microsoft has added internet versions, called Office Web.  This version is free to users that are trying to access files from a computer other than their own and allows them to access them through a web browser environment as long as they have an internet connection.  This version of Office Web will be available by June 15th of this year.

In addition to the Office Web, Microsoft is adding software for the mobile office users.  For use on the Windows Mobile phones, software is available for download on any Windows Mobile 6.5.  That download is available starting this week, as well.  The Windows 7 phone will have a version available later this year.  Nokia users will have access to the downloads, but will have to download a special application.

For those without either mobile phone, you can still access the Office Web via mobile web browser, so don’t fret, you can still get the great application from Microsoft without much hassle.  To read more about the added features, you can do so here.
