In order to get away from the consumer’s all-out excitement for the iPhone, Sprint and Verizon started to carry their Android-based phones prior to the launching of the the said Apple Inc. device.
Currently, the HTC EVO 4G from Sprint is ranked as the leader among the smartphones today. You only have to pay $199 to pay plus the two-year plan that you have to pay after the $100 rebate. There are different kinds of plans to choose from starting from $69.99 every month. At the same time, you also have to add another $10 monthly to get the “premium data” offered by Sprint.
Sprint recently gave The Arizona Republic a highlight of their HTC EVO 4G’s review. Some of these highlights are the following:
- The Android – with the Android 2.1 software and the HTC Sense, you can rest assure that you have a dependable and easy to use operating system.
- Sleek façade – you would love its 4.3inch LCD screen though it only weighs 6 ounces. It allows you to browse the Internet conveniently and even using the landscape mode to view the screen as well.
- Battery life – however, don’t expect the HTC EVO 4G to have a long battery life since it drains quickly like most of the smartphones today. Of course you have GPS and your Wi-Fi running all the time so you have to turn these off unless needed if you want to have a longer battery life.
- Camera – there are two cameras in an HTC EVO 4G. One is located at the front which has a 1.3 megapixel and the other one is the 8-megapixel which has a dual LED flash.
- 4G Network – they boast the fastest connection to date which is the 4G. At the same time, this smartphone can also access 3G networks as well.

The specifications speak for themselves. The HTC Evo 4G is everything it is made out to be and more. Apple’s inability to outdo it was the reason for Apple’s lawsuit against HTC. I have been a loyal Apple user for many years but this time round I have opted for HTC’s Evo using Sprint’s 3G and 4G network. All I can say three weeks after making the switch is that I am a happy camper.
I agree. I have had the Evo for abut 30 days and find it to be an outstanding phone capable of doing virtual anything asked of it.
I love my Evo. I stood in line at the Sprint store on luanch day (did not think there would be a line really). The phone has not let me down one bit and my buddies that have iPhones (3g, 3gs and 4) all really dig my phone. One freind is thinking about ditching his new iPhone 4 after playing with Android. the item that made him fall in love, a website loaded in the back ground while he looked at the gmaes on my phone.
I am very happy with Sprint as a provider and live in a 4G area (love it!!). This phone rocks every time I pull it out, and the hot spot makes my days at work a dream. My first 2 and a half weeks with the phone I used 3.8 Gb of data and I am on pace to smash 6Gb this month, needless to say I need a good network be it 3 or 4 G. Sprint has the “slowest” 3G but it has the best connections, what is fastest (AT&T) if it has no reliability (only 80% 3G time where I live vs 98.4% Sprint) and the speeds are not that big of a dif.
Agree as well. I got the last one available in Memphis. It’s light years ahead of the iphone (my iphone now serves as an ipod).
“In order to get away from the consumer’s all-out excitement for the iPhone..”
Excuse me fanboy, but not every consumer in the market has all-out excitement for the iPhone. Some people have no excitement whatsoever for the latest Apple devices.
