Google bought SayNow, a social voice platform based in Palo Alto, California. Its platform supports applications used by sports figures and celebrities to communicate with others. A celebrity can use a SayNow phone number that allows fans to listen to voice messages and interact with each other.
SayNow announced the acquisition through its web site. It stated that the company will now work with the Google Voice team but they still have no specific product plans. Google is said to be thrilled by its new acquisition. The company was impressed by the services of SayNow and they are looking forward to expand their voice-based technologies.
SayNow used to offer an app for business users called Big Call. It was a conference call app for the Android and iPhone users that allows a call moderator to choose participants from a contact list. The app would set up the call without the need for the participants to call a specific number.
There’s no official word as to how much Google paid for SayNow. The technology from SayNow will now join the other phone technologies that Google owns. Aside from the Android mobile operating system, it also offers Google Voice, which allows people to combine various lines under a single phone number and a voicemail box.
