Get The Samsung R100 For Free!

If you live in Canada, Solo Mobile has recently released the Samsung R100 and they  are giving away the R100 for free. What’s the catch?  You need to sign up for a 2 year contract in order to get the phone for free. If you don’t want to sign your life away for 2 years, you can prepay for the phone at only $70.

The R100 is a cool and simplistic phone that is very basic but looks neat. If you don’t require much and are in search of a simple phone, the R100 can be perfect for you. It has most of the basic features like Bluetooth, Voice commands, Micro-USB port, 2.5mm headset jack and a 1.77-inch LCD display with a resolution of 128×160. The biggest downside of the phone is that it has no camera. If you don’t use photos and you don’t mind the old look and not such a Smartphone, this can be a great phone.

Second thought, I may have to get this for my mom. She hates all the new phones and always asks me to buy her a simplistic phone when her contract is up. Well the geek that I am, I always end up getting her the latest version and the most advanced. She currently uses the Droid.  This may not be the best choice for a phone for the tech savvy, but that doesn’t mean it’s a bad phone. I would hate to get lost with a phone like the R100 but I would not mind getting lost with my Smartphone since all I need is switch on my navigation and bang!

    Hi Crystal,
I just got a call from some phone company saying they were Bell offering a $25.00 promo and a phone upgrade for the next two years. I gave him all my info because I thought he was legit and because Bell mailed me an ad for an upgrade. Then after giving him all my info, he said his supervisor would call me back within 24 hrs. to confirm my order. I have yet to hear back from the company and it has been almost a week. I am worried because I gave him all my info over the phone and now I am thinking about identity theft – maybe he outsmarted me, got all my personal info just to steal my identity!!
My Q to you, did you ever hear back for the phone company that called you and did you receive your phone?
    Please let me know. Thanks.
    Worried Mom
