There is a three-strike rule that can be used in case of internet piracy. Holders of accounts whose IP addresses use illegal downloading will get warning letters as well as emails. Such an action will be also taken if their Wi-Fi connection is hijacked by a cybercriminal to share files illegally.
Moreover, if such illegal actions are repeated, holders of accounts will face legal actions along with technical measures, meaning that they will be restricted in speed or just banned.
It was revealed that about 19 percent of web users do not use passwords that are able to protect internet access. As a result, such users become victims of Wi-Fi hacking.
