Facebook Adding Face Recognition to Photos

You know you love to upload all the new photos from your last party to your Facebook page, but you hate having to go through and manually tag all your friends.  Tagging photos allows the user to see that you posted a picture of them, as well as, let’s their friends see photos there are in that they didn’t post.

Now, Facebook is trying a new feature that will recognize the face of your friend, add that friend to the list of those you want to tag.  This will make all the tagging business a much faster process.  In the current process you have to go through your entire list and find the friend you want to tag.  Now you are going to get an automatically generated list, based on the face recognition, and be able to choose the friend much faster.

If you only have 110 friends like me, this isn’t that big of a deal, but if you are uploading pictures every single week and have 500 friends, the process will be much faster for you.  Essentially you will be uploading the image, Facebook will recognize the face, select it for you, add the user to the list and allow you to select it from there.

Facebook users spend a lot of time on the site, but that is usually attending to their farms, now when you are uploading your summer beach shots, you can get back to your crops much faster!  The system is in beta use and isn’t available to everyone on Facebook, yet.
