Droid X and Droid Incredible Are Completely Different Phones

Motorola’s renowned Droid X and Droid may have the “Droid” part in common, but that’s about it. The devices are mostly different with respect to various aspects.
A side by side comparison of both handsets led me to believe that Droid X is more of an Evo device minus 4G. Plus, don’t think that Droid X is the next installment of Droid because the latter device is really different.

Starting off with Droid – the device has a typical slide out keyboard, whereas the Droid X has a virtual keyboard, which wasn’t even a hassle for the developers. When Droid was released, complaints were received that the keyboard was too small. However, Motorola introduced a completely touch based screen for Droid X and now even “Mr. Stubby Fingers” is happily using it.

In case of Droid X, the screen is 4.3 inches large, with a resolution of 854X480 pixels and tilting the phone sideways will turn the display into a visual treat. Even though Droid X has a large screen size, it weighs less that the Droid counterpart.

Another setback for Droid community was the introduction of MOTOBLUR. A run-of-the-mill social networking tool that allowed users to stay connected. The Droid X also has MOTOBLUR but it is overshadowed by other applications and we don’t get to see much of it.

Here’s the final verdict:

Apple’s unfortunate iPhone 4 demise has posed to be a rare chance for rivals to use this opportunity and showcase their handsets in any way they like. Especially, there is this famous “You can hold our phone in any way you want” line that ever single rival is cheerfully using currently. The Droid X wont be able to inflict the “in the face” dismemberment against iPhone 4 but Motorola will dent the Apple armor in one way or another.
