Nuance Communications released an updated version of Dragon Naturally Speaking software and they are saying it will be faster and boost accuracy. The software includes social-networking components and claims speeds up to three times faster than typing. Studies show that the new version increased accuracy about 15 percent over a previous version.
Dragon allows users to speak commands without pointing and clicking with the mouse, or typing. I have used this software, before this update, and I thought it was very easy to use. I installed it and had an email “typed” up and sent without even touching the keyboard or mouse. The newest version of the software allows users to speak more and click less. Phrases like “search Ebay for new headsets” and “search maps for 123 Side Street, Piano, NY” will automatically open your default browser and get you to those destination, just by voice.
