BlackBerry Cloud Services Integrates into Office 365

RIM announced that its BlackBerry Business Cloud Services have gone live on Microsoft’s Office 365 after it underwent three months of beta testing. Users can download the software that would allow them to sync RIM devices with Exchange Online. BlackBerry Cloud Services

It features the security app BlackBerry Balance, which allows personal and business content on a handset but blocks the transfer of data from business apps through copy and paste. It allows users to delete business data while leaving personal data untouched.

According to Julia White, senior director of Microsoft’s Exchange product management group, the company’s deal with RIM shows its commitment to provide customers with the best productivity experience across various platforms, such as PC, browser, and smartphone. IT administrators have access to tools that allow them to set policies over a range of devices or on individual handsets. They can reset passwords and remotely lock down lost phones.

Alan Panezic, RIM’s vice president for enterprise product management and marketing said that this new cloud-based option would allow users to support mobility across their organizations. It allows them to manage and secure their BlackBerry deployments. He added that the company would continue on building BlackBerry solutions for government and business customers with cloud-based and on-site solutions.
