Best Buy offers a refurbished BlackBerry Playbook tablet for just $169.99. It comes with no warranty except the 30 day return option. Just a few weeks ago, RIM cut the prices of the BlackBerry PlayBook 16 GB model to $199.
The BlackBerry PlayBook will have an OS update that features compatibility to Android apps. That means users would have more apps to choose from. PlayBook users would attest that the RIM tablet can compete with any other tablet in the market.
The refurbished BlackBerry Tablet from Best Buy is priced for $169.99 plus sales tax and $9 for shipping. That’s the cheapest 7 inch tablet in the market today. But consumers have to gamble with the no warranty clause. At least the retailer offers a 30 day return policy.
Except for the screen, there really is nothing that can be broken on a tablet. Existing problems with the unit would most likely show up within the 30 day period. But for $30 more, you can already buy a new PlayBook that comes with a full warranty. The price for the brand new tablet is unmatched by any other tablet vendor in the market. Hopefully, this would be the start of a trend and more tablet makers would come out with affordable models.
