Contrary to earlier reports, it looks like Apple didn’t blacklist Best Buy from selling the iPad 2. Some news organizations reported that some Best Buy branches kept stocks of iPad 2 in reserve while their sales representatives tell customers that they don’t have any unit in stock.
Best Buy stated that they are just fulfilling their preorder responsibilities. The retail outlet still receives iPad 2 units from Apple on a regular basis. There is no basis about the reported blacklisting of the retail giant by Apple. During the first night of the launch, most Best Buy branches sold all of their initial supply. There is no truth to the claim that some of the outlets hoard their iPad 2 units.
The relationship between Apple and Best Buy remains sweet as it looks like business as usual among the two. At present Apple is still trying to cope with the overwhelming demand for the iPad 2 and solve its problems with its suppliers from Japan.
Apple didn’t issue any official word on the iPad 2’s sales but it looks like the new version of the tablet is outselling the previous model. Consumer Reports stated that the 32GB iPad 2 with Wi-Fi/3G tops the list of tablets that the outfit has tested.
