Samsung is releasing a new e-reader device that will be accessible sometime between April and May in the U.S. Sorry, guys, no official release date yet, but April-May is better than just sometime early 2010.
Consumers can expect to pay around $299 for the 6-inch screen, E6 e-reader, which first debuted at the 2010 CES in January. This e-reader will also be connected with the eBookstore of Barnes & Noble because of the partnership with B & N and Samsung.
The E6 model e-reader allows for end users to create documents, take notes, etc. while using a stylus pen with special electromagnetic resonance, which comes with the e-reader device upon purchase. You must use the stylus with this e-reader as it can only distinguish the pen and not your finger for screen touching.
The E6 e-reader has a scheduler, memo, and journal applications in addition to the video recording capabilities for audio memos and remarks.
In addition, Samsung is saying that the E6 e-reader will allow end users to use some of the B & N features that are on the Nook, which includes the potential to let your friends use certain eBooks for up to 14 days, free of charge.
Some of the E6 e-reader’s features include:
- Slide-out control panel
- 2GB Built-in memory with expandable memory
- Supports JPG, TXT, BMP, PDF/a, and e-pub formats
- Wi-Fi Connectivity
- Bluetooth capabilities
- MP3 Player
- Text-to-speech equipment
- EmoLink Technology (share content among other Samsung e-reader users)
