Bad Sales Move Might Get Best Buy Banned From Selling iPad 2

According to reports from this morning, it sounds like a little mishap over at Best Buy might get them banned from selling anymore iPad 2′s.  If this works out like any other thing regarding Apple, Best Buy might never sell another Apple product again.  In the report, posted on the CrunchGear website, a “reader that works at Best Buy”, said that Best Buy was telling customers they were sold out of the iPad 2, when in fact, the store had more in the back, but had stopped selling them due to a “pre-determined daily sales quota”.

This little move by Best Buy did not sit well with anyone at Apple, namely COO Tim Cook, who got wind of the mishap.  Since this has come to light, Apple has removed all the remaining iPad 2′s, minus the demo models, from all Best Buy stores.  Best Buy also sold the original iPad which they had stock of the first day it went on sale last year.

The iPad 2 was selling out all over the world within one week of launch, but because Best Buy still had stock of the tablet, that is where the problem is coming into play.  I am not really understanding why you would want to limit sales of one of the fastest selling items in your store, since most people would just to online or to another store, that didn’t say they were sold out.  But that was Best Buy’s call  and it appears to have created a little issue with the “men upstairs” at Apple.
