Apple iPhone Displays 55% of Mobile Ads

According to Millennial Media, Apple iPhone account for a 35 percent share of all ad impressions.  The Millinnial Media’s Mobile Mix report says that Apple’s iPhone ranks in the top 20 mobile phones with 24 percent of all ads impressions.  Samsung in second place with 17 percent, RIM in third with 10 percent and Motorola with about 9 percent of the ad impressions.

Other than smartphones, Millennial Media handles other mobile devices and of those, 32 percent are simple feature phones.  ”Connected devices” include video games like Sony PSP, the Nintendo DS and iPod Touch account of 19 percent of all ad impressions.

Smartphones are defined as, ones “that are running a recognizable operating system, excluding some higher end feature phones using a proprietary operating system suck as the Samsung Instinct and LG Vu”.  There is a small difference in developers targeting certain platforms.  100 percent of the developers on the ad network support Apple’s iOS, 75 percent target Android, 46 percent support RIM Blackberry OS, 29 percent develop for Symbian, 21 percent use Java and 17 percent supporting other platforms.

The majority of the data in the June report is for the US market.  Millennial Media did say that internationally ad requests on Android have grown 47 percent over the previous month and are up 690% since the beginning of 2010.

    I owned an iPhone 3GS and it genuinely does wonder. I like it from the icons to how the transition functions. Considering of altering to iPhone 4 soon following my next month’s salary.
