AMD is planning to make a big investment in technology companies in an attempt to build a hardware and software system that is supposed to match the Fusion processor chips. AMD will invest in software development companies to give a boost to the overall performance of long line of Fusion processors.
The goal of AMD is to help deliver all those promises and features that Fusion processors were intended to. Once the project is finalized, there will be a breakthrough in visuals, computing performance, power management and the overall attire of processors.
It is a fact that at this time and age GPUs (Graphics Processing Units) are faster than the CPUs. We can easily get a high-end graphics card but to make sure that our system can keep up with its speed, we have to make a heavy investment in other hardware devices as well.
With Fusion, users will be able to keep up with their GPUs and the Fusion theory applies to all levels of computing. You can start with a Fusion processor at notebook level and go up to a fully loaded PC.
Furthermore, the Fusion processors will be bringing a slew of comfort and ease for the developers’ community. Programmers will be able to make full use of the OpenCL applications and standards, in order to extract the maximum out of the C-like programming interface.
Also the company is interested in CUDA of Nvidia which is considered to be a set of programming tools. They can be used for managing as well as developing parallel task executions. Moreover, AMD would be able to encourage software vendors in order to convert applications taking advantage of CUDA to DirectCompute and OpneCL for Fusion.
