Ever since Google decided to give Apple some competition in the smart phone arena, people have been slowly warming up to the new contender. At first, with the introduction of the G1, people were not that enamored by the new line of phones. They thought that it was bulky and the operating system was sluggish compared to the IPhone. Now after several improvements to the OS, people are starting to move over to the Android camp. They are finding that the phones bring a lot to the table in the form of originality and features. The one space that Apple still holds a dominance, but not the stranglehold that it once had, is in the application department. More and more developers are starting to move over to the Android department and they are bringing quality design practices with them. This is great for a person who owns an Android based phone.
Before, the Android marketplace was filled with a manageable amount of apps, that you could take a quick look through and decide which you wanted to put on the phone. Now this is no longer the case. The app store has turned into a full blown marketplace and it will take you a while to search for something that you might end up loving. Of course there are a lot of apps that you will enjoy. But, like with any other electronic gadget, there will only be one app that you love. That one app that you use everyday no matter what. You can think of it as similar to your favorite video game on the X Box, or your favorite application when you use the computer. But with so many applications now in the Android marketplace, which one will be the right one for you?
Luckily, there are a lot of applications that you can try a free demo with before you decide to purchase it. Also, there are applications that you can use freely, but it is limited in the amount of features that it provides. If you would like to have the full set of features, then you have to buy the product. Both of these ways are great in helping you make a decision if an application is going to be that special one or not. Even if you do not love the application, if you like it enough, it will probably be added to your collection. And that is not a bad thing. The only thing that will stop you from finding that special one, is the time factor. It takes a lot of time in trying to decide if you like an application or not. So try to limit this effect by going to the categories that you like first. If you just decide to go with random categories, then it will take you a lot longer.
Finding a new app that you will love is like finding a needle in a haystack. It’s there but it will take a while to find it. Thank goodness that the Android has such a large marketplace. More diversity means that your chances are better of finding it.
