The Samsung Epix is a nice upgrade of the Samsung BlackJack II. The Samsung Epix is 4.6 inches high by 2.4 inches wide by 0.5 deep. Its weight makes up 4.4 ounces. The smartphone is of a silver gray color scheme which makes the Epix really attractive.

The main difference between the Samsung BlackJack II and the Samsung Epix is the presence of a touch screen in the Epix version.

The Epix’s display measures 2.5 inches. It supports 65,000 hues and has the resolution of 320×320 pixels. The screen is highly responsive and simplifies the navigation of the device.

The Samsung Epix features an optical mouse that is situated between the OK and Start buttons. The option makes the navigation a fun, but you can also use the traditional way of navigation.

There is a full QWERTY keyboard in the Epix. Unfortunately, the keys seem too little and stiff to press, which results in a number of mistakes while texting.

The Samsung Epix has all the features of the BlackJack II with a couple of additions: Windows Mobile 6.1 Professional Edition, enhanced Calendar management and developed page navigation in Internet Explorer Mobile.

You will also find: AT&T’s Video Share service support, Bluetooth 2.0, UMTS/HSDPA, Wi-Fi, built-in GPS with AT&T Navigator, Windows Media Player 10 Mobile supporting MP3, MPEG-4, WAV, AAC, WMA, WMV audio and video formats.

The Samsung Epix’s camera is 2 megapixels with 4x digital zoom and self-portrait mirror. The camera lacks a flash. There is a camcorder with four quality settings.  The quality of photos is average, the colors look a bit washed out. Nevertheless, the quality of video clips is excellent.

The Epix’s memory includes 256MB of internal ROM and 150MB of internal RAM. The smartphone accepts microSD cards up to 32GB.

The Samsung Epix has a touch screen. Its optical mouse helps to navigate the smartphone much easier. The high-end features are great: Bluetooth, Wi-Fi, Windows Mobile 6.1, GPS, HSPDA.
