RIM BlackBerry Pearl Flip 8230 Is a Decent Choice for First Smartphone Buyers

RIM-BlackBerry-Pearl-Flip-8230RIM BlackBerry Pearl Flip 8230 is a nice update of Alltel’s line of BlackBerrys that is available for the price of $129.99 including a two-year contract.

The design of the RIM BlackBerry Pearl Flip 8220 is almost like the design of the T-Mobile BlackBerry Pearl Flip so there is no need to describe it. It is made for flip phone lovers and enhanced with some more high-end features.

Among the features of the RIM BlackBerry Pearl Flip 8220 is EV-DO support, Bluetooth, GPS and so on. We found no Wi-Fi in the RIM BlackBerry Pearl Flip 8220. The BlackBerry Pearl Flip 8220 comes compatible with M4/T4 hearing-aid devices.

The BlackBerry Pearl Flip 8230 has a 2-megapixel camera that shoots photos of a very good quality. The photos would be better if the colors were not a bit washed out. The call quality and the quality of sound in the player of the smartphone are excellent. We cannot say the same about the quality of MP4 video clips. While testing there were several moments when the image got jerky and sound was interrupted. We were not pleased with a bit small display that makes it inconvenient to watch long clips.

The talk time of the RIM BlackBerry Pearl Flip 8230 is 3.5 hours and the standby time is up to 9 days.

Among the pluses of the RIM BlackBerry Pearl Flip 8230 there are 3G and GPS. The smartphone has an updated interface. There are Documents to Go and a really good camera as well as decent e-mail options still remain.

There is no Wi-Fi in the BlackBerry Pearl Flip 8230. The rated talk time is not impressing.

The RIM BlackBerry Pearl Flip 8230 is a good smartphone, however, not everyone will like its clamshell design.

good phone. nothing super special, but i like the size and how easy it is to use. i’ve been looking on gsmallover.com at the storm2 though. i haven’t looked into many reviews on that one yet, anyone know how it compares to the pearl flip?
