Nokia Lumia 710 is the second smartphone that resulted from the partnership made by Nokia and Microsoft. It is for the budget-conscious user. This is ideal for first time smartphone buyers. The Lumia 800 got all the attention because of its superior build and features but the Lumia 710 is estimated to sell more and bring in bigger profits for the company. From a business standpoint, smartphones are more important than flagships.
Microsoft laid strict hardware requirements for its Windows Phone platform. This is why the Lumia 710 has the same 1.4 GHz Scorpion chip and 512 MB RAM as that of the Lumia 800. Expect similar handling from both Nokia handsets.
To maintain its cheaper price, the Lumia 710 has less internal storage, a LCD screen, and a 5 megapixel camera. The design is not as impressive as the Lumia 800 but it is solidly built and looks good. Because it has a LCD screen instead of AMOLED, expect its quality to be less compared to the Lumia 800.
Lumia 710’s main rivals in the Windows Phone market are the Samsung Omnia and HTC Radar. To make the Lumia 710 more attractive to the consumers, Nokia gives it some exclusive software, such as the Nokia Drive.
