Nokia Asha 303 Gets A for Effort

Nokia unveiled the Asha 303, which is a S40 phone that is as big as a Windows Phone. The Symbian platform got a lot of visual updates and the phone comes with a 1 GHz processor. This is designed for the loyal Nokia consumers. Nokia Asha 303

The Asha 303 is a touch and type handset with a big screen. Actually, this is the first S40 phone with the combination of full QWERTY keyboard and touch screen. As a bonus for its loyal users, Nokia included an exclusive Angry Birds for S40 version.

It is not a smartphone and it can’t handle multitasking. This has never been a feature of Nokia’s S40 platform and therefore its 1 GHz processor is not taxed much. But with those deficits aside, Asha 303 is an excellent handset in its class.

If you’re looking for a simple messenger, then Asha 303 should be on top of your list. Its QWERTY keyboard and touchscreen put it on top of other handsets in its category. For the same amount, you could get an old model Android phone but Nokia knows its target market wouldn’t be looking for a smartphone. It’s the ideal phone for those wanting to upgrade their basic handset but doesn’t want to cross into the smartphone territory just yet.
