Nokia 5530 ReviewNokia is coming out with smartphones like the 5530 that have what is called ” xpressmusic “. Nokia makes super good products and this particular 5530 is no exception. Nokia is the innovator and is the most popular mobile brand around. Make sure you read this article and catch a little more information about this great little smartphone.

The Nokia 5530 is literally beautiful. If you have not see a photo of it yet, you should. It has a great screen and is surrounded with metal trimming that makes it look attractive and modern. The thickness is just a bit less than some other models as well as the length. There are no external mechanical buttons on the front. The screen has all this duty. The power button is still graciously mounted on the top. You get five colors to choose from on this model. The back cover is shiny plastic.

For performance and features, the Nokia 5530 is another powerhouse from this maker. The memory is a strong point with seventy five megabytes of memory available for the user and a four gigabyte microSD card is included with the 5530. If you want to use your own microSD you can add a card up to sixteen gigabytes and do without shutting off the unit. This smartphone has 128 megabytes of random access memory ( RAM ) and seventy megabytes of what is called ” free ” memory.

The screen on the 5530 is a strong point for this Nokia smartphone. It is what is called a ” full touch ” interface for the user but the size is bit smaller than the flagship models. It is 2.9 inches, while other more pricey models are 3.2 inches. Will you notice this small bit of difference ? You probably will if you use glasses. Overall the screen is very viewable and colorful and has strength while in the sun.

The 5530 comes with the xpressmusic option from Nokia. The speakers are bold sounding and if you want a little privacy it also has bluetooth capability. You can listen without having a cord tethered between you and the phone if your headphones are bluetooth capable. Nokia includes a pair of WH 205 headphones for free. These use a cable.

The cell phone application is admirable on the Nokia 5530. It has quad band GSM capability but not WCDMA. You will not be able to use this phone everywhere in the world. You do have conference calling and call logging. It does have wireless 802.11 B and G features as well as EDGE data networks. For SMS there is is a contact bar for up to twenty of your friends and family. You can delete many messages at once instead of having to scroll through each one individually to delete them. You have email with the IMAP, POP and SMTP protocols. The web browser is full HTTP and includes XHTML ability.

The camera is a 3.2 megapixel model which is somewhat average. There is video included in MP4 and 3GP formats. The maximum clip you can record will be an hour and half. You can edit the videos while they are on the phone. There is no PAL connector to hook up to a television for preview. The battery is also average and weighs in at 1000 mAh. Standby time is 351 hours. Talktime is nearly five hours. Music playback is twenty seven hours long. The 5530 is a second-tier model from Nokia meant for those who will not be buying the flagship models. It is currently selling for just under $300 USD at the moment.
