LG Optimus LTE and Samsung Galaxy Nexus Review

HD screens are now the biggest thing to hit the smartphones. There are several handsets that boast of having HD screens and have the HD label. Two of the first smartphones with 720p screens are LG Optimus LTE and the Samsung Galaxy Nexus. LG Optimus LTE and Samsung Galaxy Nexus

The two smartphones’ screens have relatively the same size. The Nexus has 4.65 inch screen while the Optimus has 4.5 inch. Both have pixel density of over 300ppi, which is way above the average. But they are different from each other as well.

The LG Optimus LTE utilizes a three-subpixel matrix for its display, which is said to be a True HP IPS. The Galaxy Nexus on the other hand uses two subpixels per pixel in its Super AMOLED display. LG is becoming the standard setter when it comes to screen brightness. But viewing angles is something that they can improve on.

While resolution, size and pixel density are important, it is also vital to check their color rendering, contrast and brightness. Reflectivity and viewing angles are also vital for outdoor performance. As said above, LG does well in the brightness department. The Galaxy Nexus looks dim even at the maximum brightness setting while the LG Optimus LTE looks good.

With this comparison we can conclude that AMOLEDs are not that superior to LCDs. If the specs is right, an AH IPS LCD handset is better than any AMOLED phone around.
