 lenovo-skylight Lenovo has launched a new smartbook that is based on Snapdragon chipset platform produced by Qualcomm. Lenovo Skylight is a good attempt to incomporate the best characteristics of netbooks and smartphones in order to produce a new mobile device convenient for a customer. The difference of netbooks and smartphones is in the following: smartbooks are more versatile and much larger if compare with smartphones, however, they are not as large as a netbook and do not run usual Windows operating systems.

The Skylight specifications include: Qualcomm Snapdragon 1GHz ARM II CPU processor, it runs Linux (Lenovo Custom Base) operating system. The device comes with a 10.1inch display that has a resolution of 1280 x 720. It also includes 8GB mini SD card, 512MB LP22r2-PAM, 4GB USB, 8GB flash Stick as well as 2GB Online Storage. What concerns audio, it is mono (stereo out) and has internal microphone. Integrated comms are 3G Quadband WCDMA. The Skylight has also Micro SDHC (with card installed), mini HDMI connector, 2 USB (1 in flip jack), headset jack, SIM slot and card slot (MMC, SDHC, SD). One can observe a 1.3 megapixel camera.

With the weight of less than 2 pounds, dimensions of 253mm x 201.1mm x 17.2-18.9mm, 10-hour battery life and full sized keyboard the smartbook will become extremely attractive to you. You will certainly enjoy the smartbook’s colors (though the color option is not very rich: it proposes the device earth red and lotus blue shades).

What concerns availability and pricing, you will be able to purchase the new Lenovo Skylight smartbook already in April in the U.S.A. You will have an opportunity to buy it via the Internet or at AT&T retail stores. In China and in Europe the device will be reachable later during this year. The price for new smartbook will begin from $499.
