Verizon-BlackBerry-Curve-8530The BlackBerry Curve 8530 is the handset form the BlackBerry line up that is between entry-level models such as the Pearl Flip and Pearl and leading models like Bold and Tour.

The Curve 8530 comes with a fashion-forward design created for young consumers. The smartphone is considered to be smaller if compare it with the Tour and, moreover, it is lighter.

The strongest side of the device is the operating system, it runs BlackBerry OS 5.0. But still such operating system is not so revolutionary, but it provides some improvements like syncing of contacts wirelessly. It is possible to flag messages for follow up. The operating system offers improved application permission management and also it has the ability to cope with ringing profile settings.

The Curve 8530 has a less powerful processor if compare with its contemporaries like the Tour. The 8530 is regarded as a good performer, but as for its call quality, it is only average. The smartphone is equipped with a 3G Sprint antenna, Bluetooth, GPS and also Wi-Fi.

Furthermore, the device offers traditional BlackBerry apps such as the Pandora, DataViz DocumentsToGo, Maps of BlackBerry, and a range of apps for social networking as well. But still it includes Sprint-specific apps among which one can observe Sprint NASCAR, Sprint Navigation, TV, music apps and NFL.

The integrated camera on the Curve 8530 lacks a flash that is considered to be a drawback for the BlackBerry. It is a 2 megapixel camera that also does not have auto-focus and offers lower resolution compared to Bold 9700 or Storm. But despite all theses disadvantages, the camera performs well enough.

The Curve 8530 fits nicely into its product line. With this smartphone, you will be able to get the latest operating system, the new hardware, Wi-Fi that you will not see on other models of Sprint BlackBerry.

I have had the 8330 for a good while, but wanted to upgrade to the 8530. I bought one, but took it back in less than 24 hours.
Like the mouse pad, but there is no doubt that it’s a cheaper phone

What I would like to see is a Tour with the mouse pad.
