Samsung S5560 Review

Introduction and Design:

The compact Samsung S5560 equipped with a 5-megapixel camera, with a 3-inch display screen and Wi-Fi, yet it lacks in 3G connectivity.

Equally, to every newest Samsung’s devices with touch-sensitive screens, the S5560 has three useful buttons on the front the end key, send and an unusual shaped button this gets you one-step back to menus. Its 3-inch WQVGA resolution display screen offers pleasant image quality inside, while it becomes a proper mirror outside in the direct sunlight making it uncomfortable for use.

At the sides, are the volume rocker, screen unlock/lock button and camera shutter. The Samsung S5560 gets, charged through microUSB slot this is located at the top end, near the 3.5mm jack. Back of this phone has a matted finish, with a satisfying shape that allows for a proper grip making it comfortable in the hand.

Interface and Functions:

The Samsung S5560 runs on the TouchWiz 2.0 interface, however does not feature any multitasking. Home screen has three single pages for widgets are many we have not seen before, like the bebo social network, kelkoo search services, etc. The phone is, dedicated with Facebook, MySpace and Twitter applications, but you going to have to use the appropriate widgets for starting them.  It comes with two keyboards your landscape QWERTY and standard numeric. The QWERTY is useful even for thicker fingers. Unfortunately, the Samsung S5560 does not allow automatic email account setup.  Internet browser WebKit based you will enjoy smooth scrolling also zooming by double taping after pages are fully loaded. The only high-speed connectivity preference this phone offers is Wi-Fi. It is equipped with a pleasantly good quality 5-megapixel camera with auto focus also a little LED flash. The snapshots are actually very snappy, I am sure you would enjoy filling the built-in 40MB memory up with excellent pictures.  The phone also comes equipped with a microSD card slot. Unfortunately, the video capturing quality is very bad due to the poor resolution of QVGA.

Its snapshot qualities are, great for a cell phone the colors are realistic and sharp. However, in dark places it is not that grand. The S5560 audio qualities via its boxed earphones are, however, somewhat lower and the sound becomes virtually unbearable once the player is at its full blast, because of excessive sharpness. You could turn down its volume intensity until it becomes suitable for your prolonged listening.

Its video playback capability is somewhat limited – this device features support of H.264 and MPEG-4 files the resolution does not exceed QVGA.

The Samsung S5560 is preloaded with numerous demo games and two complete titles Bubble Popper and Wise Star. The first is rather funny.

Performance and conclusion:

Our callers did sound somehow in the distance and muted via the earphone of the Samsung S5560. It seemed to be somewhat better at their side of the call, even though they did complain we sounded quite surreal. Overall, the in-call quality was below average, even though we did not have trouble understanding the people.  The battery is robust according to the manufactures should provide about 9.5 hours nonstop talk time. The battery  performed great  during our tests we managed to have the  phone operational within  two days while on  moderate number of phone  calls, but  quite heavy on internet surfing.

The Samsung S5560 is just your average phone, also comes with some serious shortcomings too. The internet connectivity is slow and only comes with Wi-Fi does not even support 3G. Camera is surprisingly of high quality but we most disappointed with the mediocre video capturing and playback capability on this phone. If you in the market for an affordable handset and are not to interested in high speed internet or video playback then you should consider but still consider, the Samsung S5560 as a  good option certainly. This phone also has a good mat finished back giving you a good grip in the hand.

Pros

* Superior snapshot quality

* Usable browser, particularly with the Wi-Fi hotspot close by

* 3.5mm jack also has great audio player

* Robust battery life

Cons

* Video playback and capturing are very mediocre

* No automatic email accounts setup

* No multitasking

* Lack in 3G
