The new Pantech Impact mobile phone is a fairly cheap prospect if you are looking for a phone and have limited funds. Other than that, it’s not really worth the expense of buying if you are planning on using it for anything more than making a few phone calls every now and then. The biggest problem with this phone is the fact that as a messaging phone, it just doesn’t seem to appeal to people all that much.
The oddly placed keys and the touchpad could use a lot of improvement for the next upgrade, and the phone itself is a bit on the heavy side. At around 4.5 ounces it may not feel too bad in hand but when you have it in your pocket, you will know that it’s there. It’s a tad bit larger in dimension than most other mobile phones and the screen just doesn’t cut it. The resolution is a bit on the low end and it’s only about as big as a Blackberry.
The apps are hidden under two tabs, those being the menu and shortcuts tabs and is rather a pain to get to if you are in a hurry. This phone could be one that people with less money to spend could enjoy if all of these issues were fixed, but as it is, this mobile will probably fall to the way side and won’t be bragged about too much. The flip phone aspect seems to have been given up by most of the newer Smartphone, and Pantech should probably keep this in mind. The next phone they put out should look more into a slide keyboard for easy messaging and try to make the screen a bit bigger with a better resolution. They should also decrease the weight and size of the phone all together.
