The Motorola Active W450 is a flip phone of a nice design and mediocre features.
The Motorola Active W450 comes in plastic, it doesn’t feature the rubber sidings as a Nextel phone. Nonetheless, the phone is strong and sturdy enough.
The color scheme of the Active W450’s outside part is standard black-and-white, nevertheless, the inside part of the phone comes in either orange or yellow color. The size of the Active W450 is 4.18 inches tall by 1.80 inches wide by 0.74 inch deep. The weight of the device is 3.5 ounces.
The Active W450’s external display is rather small having the size of a postage stamp. The resolution of the outer screen is just 96×80 pixels, so there is no opportunity to watch cool graphics on it. Nevertheless, the external display shows all the necessary information: date, battery life, time, signal strength, and numeric caller ID. The screen doesn’t work as a viewfinder for the Active W450’s camera.

The Motorola Active W450 features a music player that is standard for all Motorola phones. For the data transfer the W450 phone offers USB and Bluetooth but without a stereo profile. The messaging services of the device are the following: text and multimedia messaging, and instant messaging.
The W450 has a 1.3-megapixel camera that shoots the images in four resolutions: from 1,280 x 960 to 160 x 120. The features of the camera include a self-timer, 3 quality settings, 9 color tones, 8x digital zoom, exposure setting and white balance that can be adjusted, 5 shutter sounds with silent mode. There is no flash in the camera. The photo quality, however, is not very good as the colors look washed out.
There is a camcorder that takes video clips in two resolutions: 128 x 96 and 176 x 144. The video recorder comes with some sound and editing options.
The internal memory of the Motorola Active W450′s offers just 4MB, but luckily there is an opportunity to enhance the phone’s memory using a memory card.
The promised battery life of the Active W450 compiles 7.5 hours of talk time and 10.4 days of stand-by mode.
