Yet another Android based phone, this time from Motorola. Motorola’s fifth android based mobile phone is about to hit the markets, the CLIQ XT, succeeding the CLIQ, in its long running motoblur brand of mobile phones. CLIQ XT has a slender look, a trendy design and a featherweight appearance. Measuring about 2.3 x 4.6 x .5 inches, it looks beautiful in its black and gray ornamentation. Available in black/gray shades, the phone weighs a tad over 100 grams. The XT is bigger, broader, slimmer and lighter in comparison with its predecessor, CLIQ. The CLIQ XT without the slidable keyboard makes room to provide better design and lighter features.
Motorola’s latest try out, the CLIQ XT runs on the Android 1.5 donut. Nothing has been said about the product being upward compatible with higher versions of the android, but the expectation still remains amongst techno experts. On the software front, the refurbished media player is a steal. It is very different from its predecessor. The new music player is a fully integrated piece of software; It incorporates among other features, the ability to stream live feeds from Shout Cast radio, label different song types with SoundHond, and search/view music video files from you tube along with the customary feature of playing quality music. The user can also tune into the TuneWiki Community, which provides features, such as Music Maps allowing the user to view what other people within the same city or locality are listening to. Sort of like a social network for music lovers. The music player also allows you to interchange tracks and gives greater freedom to do more things at one go, even letting you purchase music.
The phone runs on the QUALCOMM processor that was used to power the previous version, the MSM7201A chipset has been used. Clocking about 528 MHz, the processor has the capacity to run many apps simultaneously, though there is a bit of lag and delay. Like other mobile phones, it is equipped with a five mega pixel camera, but the picture quality is something that speaks volumes of its capability. With a host of features, it comes with LED flash, comes with the digital quality zoom-in feature and has auto focus. The camera has a good resolution and is capable of video capture at 24 frames per second, HVGA resolution.
Apart from all this, it is 3G enabled, has high sound quality, noiseless and precise clarity, with good connectivity, providing support for GSM, GPRS and is EDGE/UMTS/HSDPA enabled. It also includes the regulars Bluetooth, USB support etc. The phone is expected to run on T-Mobile’s carrier service and if experience tells, the phone would cost anywhere between 100 to 200 dollars just like its predecessor.

The Sunnyvale brewed MotoBlur is a processor hog and sux! Go get yourself an Illinois-developed blur-free DROID !!
I think I need a smartphone with android 2.1, I think there is no use in buying a mobilephone with 1.5.
