Although it has been unconfirmed, the BlackBerry Curve 8910 is thought to be an upgrade and combination of the previous BlackBerry Curve 8900 model and that of the Bold 9700 model.
The Blackberry Curve 8910 has yet to be released but there has already been major controversies surrounding some of its functions and capabilities.
First is about its availability in the US Market, it has been rumored that the Blackberry Curve 8910 cannot be availed by US users and that caused a lot of distress for some avid American Berry enthusiasts. Nonetheless, everyone has been appeased because RIM has released a statement that the Blackberry Curve 8910 is available for users from US, Asia and Europe as well.
Next big controversy about the Blackberry Curve 8910 is its 3G capability feature. It has been told that this Berry is unable to support this type of connectivity that caused uproar to some fans as well. However, it has been disproved by the Blackberry manufactures and instead gave a value of up to 473 kbps capacity for the phone – much faster than the average 3G because of EDGE technology.
If you have heard talks that this phone will be launched in Asia and Europe on the first months of 2010, then don’t be fooled because the RIM manufacturer themselves have not officially set the release date yet.
Despite all the rumors, here are the following official features released by the manufacturers of the Blackberry Curve 8910 phone:
1. The phone is GPS capable, which means that you can use the satellite as a map so you can locate destinations and places you wish to go.
2. Blackberry Curve 8910 is EDGE capable with DLDC technology supported by LatRed and contains a GSM radio quad-band.
3. The camera has a 3.2 megapixel resolution with features such as autofocus and Flash LED light.
4. Other features include a microUSB port, Bluetooth 2.1. and a Wi-Fi (802.11 b/g/n)
There are leaked pictures in the internet portraying Blackberry Curve 8910. It has been said that the LCD screen has a 2.4 inch dimension with 480 X 360 pixel resolution. The Blackberry Curve 8910 has a new built in track pad that is an upgrade of the track ball in the previous Blackberry phones.
