nokia-booklet-3g Nokia is entering the world of Netbooks with its Booklet 3G laptop that has been recently unveiled. The device looks very nice indeed and provides a good AT&T mobile broadband service that has automatic connection. This process is amazingly clear and easy in comparison with the software setup and manual log-ins that are necessary for other mobile broadband laptops. If you go for a two year contract with AT&T, the Booklet 3G will cost you as much as $299.

The Booklet 3G is one of the most upscale-looking Netbooks. It is not heavy, but at the same time feels solid in your hands. The device is available in black, white and blue colors. It differs in its design from many other Netbooks that are aimed at looking slim and singles out with its sharp, angled edges. As its name suggests, it in fact resembles a book. The thing, which is not very satisfying, is that the keyboard is far from ideal being stuffed with tiny keys difficult to hit accurately. The touch pad is quite good, it is large and easy to use.

The Booklet features a 10.1-inch display with the higher 1,366×768-pixel resolution that is actually common for many enhanced Netbooks. Among positive things are the AT&T mobile broadband and the possibility to manually join local Wi-Fi networks. However, with its wonderful design and well-integrated mobile broadband, the Booklet 3G is still behind its rivals.

Powered by the slower Z530 version of Intel’s Atom CPU compared to the more common N270 or N280 versions the device demonstrates rather slow performance, especially with only 1GB of RAM and a slower 4,200rpm hard drive. The netbook has a 16-cell battery that provides 7 hours and 14 minutes backup, which is rather surprising. In fact, this is one of the best results even among gigantic extended batteries. The new device goes with an industry-standard one-year parts as well as labor warranty with the system.
