Samsung has rolled out a raft of bright and gorgeous 3D-capable plasma, LED and LCD televisions.
The first-ever range of 3D LED televisions and other additions to LCD, LED and plasma line-ups, a majority of which provides built-in 3D technology were revealed by Samsung at a New York press conference.
Every one of the 3D TV from Samsung could be utilized with its latest electronic shutter 3D glasses, home theater systems and 3D Blu-ray players
While the 27 LED televisions ranging from 19 to 25 inches were paraded, Samsung flaunted a novel technology in a few of its edge-lit LED TVs.
This technology used facilitates local dimming; the pixels and backlighting in any specific area gets shut down to enhance the darkness.
This kind of local dimming was previously witnessed in sets which had the LED backlight directly situated at the back of the LCD panel, with a thickness that is considerably greater than the edge-lit units
The LED-lit TV lineup ranges from the usual 19-inch UN19C4000 ($380) to the 55-inch 3D enabled UN55C900 ($7,000).
The new HDTV app store offering around 20 applications for Internet capable TVs of Samsung was also announced
What’s a 3D TV without 3D content? Samsung has thus made note of its alliance with DreamWorks Animation and so the 3D versions of the “Shrek” movies would be made available for Samsung televisions later during the year
While most of the larger ones are expected to hit the market this month, the smaller ones will surface only in May.
