This week I became a proud owner of a 47″ Toshiba (47ZV650U) REGZA LCD HDTV. That’s right, even though it’s almost 5 years after everyone else, I have finally settled on an HDTV. I am completely satisfied and I could not ask for anything more from Toshiba at this point.
Features and Thoughts
The Toshiba REGZA is a 120hz (240hz scanning) HDTV that produces some wild HD pictures. The movies are life like and
extremely awesome. The features are piled on with this HDTV with my favorite being the auto-view option. In “auto-view” mode the television actually senses how much light is in the room and converts the picture accordingly. I like it because it is a lot easier than screwing with all the settings just to get the “perfect” picture.
The REGZA is referring to the technology used to gain this elegant picture. Coupled with FULL 1080p HD, the quality of picture is simply amazing. Over 2 million pixels are displayed and used to create great images. With 120hz ClearFrame, the television uses a scanning backlight to achieve the best 240hz picture, but is really only a 120hz television. This means your high action and multiple motion shots look even better.
The built-in speakers are plenty good for starters, but the TV can easily be upgraded to any type of surround sound systems. There is a dolby digital setting for the speakers and after watching some action movies, I must say that I am 1105 impressed with the sound quality.
Where I Bought My HDTV
I bought my TV through Tiger Direct and I could NOT have been more pleased with my purchase. I got the TV for $1,000 which was about $700 off retail price at the time. I really had a hard time trying to find reviews that were not very good. I would have to say that over 85% of the reviews that I found various places online, were positive and 4 or 5 stars.
