Google partnered with retailers, airports and transit stations in the United States and Japan to bring indoor maps to Android phones. The full list of partners is found on the Google Maps help center and it includes at least 20 airports and retail shops across the country. Among the shopping malls found in Google Maps are Valico Shopping mall in Cupertino, Eagle Rock Plaza in Los Angeles, and Mall of America in Minnesota.

Google worked with local businesses to get the layout of the stores. Retail outlets can participate by uploading a photo of blueprints, plans or directory and align it with the existing satellite map. The new update is exclusively available to the Android operating system.

Google Maps can now show you the way inside the malls. It can help you find a specific shop and what floor it is located. You can easily find your way inside airports as well.
