Sony Delays Launching of the Gran Turismo 5 (again!)

Steve McBrian 10/15/2010 10

For the nth time, Sony decided to delay the release of the highly anticipated launching of their infamous racing game – Gran Turismo 5. Even though many have already seen this coming, they still can’t help but to be frustrated and feel down.

It was four years ago when the first Gran Turismo was launched as a game for PS3. All of the enthusiasms from the fanatics of the said racing game will have to wait until November 2 which was said to be the scheduled release date of the Gran Turismo 5.

If you would remember, one of the first few downloadable titles during the PS3 era was the Gran Tursimo HD Concept. As a result, many expected that there would be a high-definition, full-fledged Gran Turismo from Sony coming out. Unfortunately, it just did not happen.

Rather than launching their Gran Turismo 5 in a couple of days, the company decided that they release a game that has the basic infrastructure less the features of full Gran Turismo 5. They called it as the Gran Turismo 5 Prologue instead.

Surely, fans riddled why they were given with release dates that really would not happen. There were still times that they anticipated and continued their hype. Sadly, disappointment shot these fanatics eventually.

But they were willing to forgive Sony especially last summer. The company said that they already nailed down the real launching date for the Gran Turismo 5, which was supposed to be on the second day of November.

And now that the said date is fast approaching, Sony is now saying that they are not yet completely done with the game. Let’s just see if they would stick to their promise that the Gran Turismo 5 will be in the market during the holidays.

Wow, um Steve, buddy, I appreciate the coverage of GT5 but u may want to keep in mind that there has only be 1 actual delay before this, and it was the release date in japan. There wasn’t one for the states till the Nov 2. Also u may not intend for it to sound this way but GT1 didn’t release 4 yrs ago. It was on the original playstation like 10 yrs ago. Otherwise good article, I’m pretty annoyed at the delay but eh, it will be the most tech. Perfect game ever when kaz releases it.

There weren’t exact dates given in the past. But they kept announcing when the game should be released. First late 2007, then early 2008 then nov 2008 then nov 2009 then early 2010 then Nov 2nd now indefinite..
I bought a ps3 in early 2008 when Yamauchi promised the game would be released that year. 2009 he laughed when someone mentioned 2010.

First off Stephen he was refering to when GT was released in any form on the PS3 console. Gran Turismo on playstation was released i believe in 1996 or 97. This really pisses me off that they keep delaying the game. I just want to race, i dont care about damage and all that other extra stuff they are putting in the game. I just like racing, if i wanted damage i would get burnout or something like that. I would trade the damage for a larger car selection anyday or more tracks. Ill bet they just keep running into more and more glitches because they tried to do too much to the game. What good is making a super complicated video game if you never release it?! I would have gladly bought a new GT game everyother year over the last 5 years or however long its been since GT4 came out. They should have done this whole process in baby steps. Instead it makes me turn toward getting another console (XBOX360) and get Forza…

If you re read above post he said the first gt for PS3, not first gt. But I am pissed as well. All the stores have huge
gt5 displays and still have 11-2 as release date. Just saw this in gamestop a couple hours ago and then I get home and find out it is delayed again. I really think we have 3 D tv to thank for this crap. If that junk technology hadn’t been coming out we would have had the game last year

Forza is poo……..why try with all the realism when they just include a rewind button? As for gt5 it got delayed because of the stupid firmware! Damn hackers causing a delay to my racing awesomeness.

I’m so tired of sony. I have many things from sony such as tv, md walkman, ps2, ps3, cam corder and camera. But from now on sony will for sure lose me forever. I know who their marketing work. I give you guys an example: “you are thirsty for 3 days and sony is holding a glass of very very cold coke and standing behind a thick glass window and you can not break through” I would tell sony to keep the game for them self and have fun with it. I’m done with sony.
