Minecraft gamers who own iOS devices now have more reasons to be happy about. The pocket edition of Minecraft is now available for the iOS operating system. Android users were able to download and play the game starting last October.
Minecraft Pocket Edition is a stripped down version of the game. Users can craft or mine on their mobile devices. Survival modes are also disabled in the Pocket Edition. It is just the classic construction mode available for the mobile version.
Minecraft Pocket Edition for iOs costs $7, which is expensive for a stripped down version of the game. Still in beta, the game has sold 4 million copies. It has 2 million fans on Facebook and its upcoming MineCon is sold out. The two day convention in Las Vegas would be where thecompany will launch version 1.0 of Minecraft.
The iOS version would support local multiplayer through Wi-Fi. The app is universal and it would scale according to the screen size, to the delight of iPad owners. Diggers could explore randomized worlds in creative mode made out of 36 different kinds of blocks. Hopefully this is just the beginning for mobile Minecraft. Gamers hope that mods would make their way into the Pocket Edition.
