The new lines of netbooks that are starting to hit the floor running seem to be taking off pretty well. If all you need is something to work from while on the road or to check your email then you can stop your hunt. The new Nokia Booklet 3G is one that the mobile phone giant Nokia has decided to put out. While it seems to fit with the basic idea of being lightweight and portable, the Booklet seems to lack just a tiny bit in power. There are some sluggish results in running multiple web browsers and Windows Office at the same time but the overall performance of this tiny machine seems to be pleasant to work with.
Probably the best overall aspect of the Booklet is the fact that the battery life is above and beyond what some other more pricey and heavier machines can handle. With over 7 hours of extended use during a playback video test, it seems to hold steady with much more expensive batteries. The case for the Booklet seems to be well made, if a little smudge prone in places such as the back of the lid, but all in all it is a well built netbook.
The price is pretty reasonable as well at only $299 but you have to pay for the two year contract with AT&T for your data. This will more than likely cost you around an extra $60 a month. If you want to buy it without the contract then you are looking closer to $600. Going with the contract would probably be the best bet especially when you find how easily it connects to the 3G network. Automated connection is something that most people with Netbooks like to see and beats having to reconfigure your connection every time you move to another spot.
