The LG X120 Netbook is one of the only netbooks that have debuted in the United States and the only place you can actually pick one up is by going to Radio Shack. When you get there you will have two choices ahead of you towards getting your new netbook: One would be to pay for the two year contract through AT&T which is $60 a month for your unlimited 3G wireless internet and another $50 for the netbook itself, or you can forgo the two year contract and, instead, pay just $400 for the netbook alone. If you do a lot of travelling for business or whatever, you might want to look into the 3G network with the contract. However, if you are only going to be using it around home, then you can probably just pay the money and get the netbook without the 3G internet.
While the design is nice and clean and, so far, the netbook only comes in white, its performance rating isn’t all that much to be proud of. While it does meet the lowest standards that are currently being set, it’s not very high on the power list for more common netbooks. While it will do what you want it to do as long as you aren’t pushing it too hard, the battery life will probably have you pulling your hair out as after just over 5 hours the battery will go dead. With other netbooks having battery lives of up to 7 or 8 hours, the LG X120 just doesn’t seem to be able to match up. But all is not lost as this is the first netbook that has made the United States as its venue for release before hitting the larger world’s market, and there just might be hope that the next version will be a bit more powerful.
