The launch of Road Pilot for consumers in India has been announced by MapmyIndia, the country’s leader of premium quality digital map data and services for consumer navigation

The GPS Navigator, christened “Road Pilot “comes with a 3.5 inch wide touch screen that flaunts a voice assistance for each turn to guide you to the desired destination.

The device comes preloaded with some of the country’s best maps with high accuracy, covering 620 Indian cities, 576,000 villages and towns, over 30000 tourist locations as well as two million unique destinations.

Also information regarding several hotels, ATMs, fuel station and tourist locations can also be obtained from this gadget.

The most remarkable aspect of the RoadPilot is that the device is not dependent on mobile network coverage, owing to which there is always an ‘always on’ GPS navigation experience for the consumer. This could be obtained even in places where there is a failure of cell phone GPS navigation which heavily relies upon GPRS, for reasons of poor connectivity or network coverage.

And the company based in New Delhi has not charged money as monthly or recurring fees on the gadget.

The “Road Pilot” is equipped with all the utilities that are required to have it installed in a car, inclusive of car charger and car mount.

So, what are you waiting here for, just go and grab this gadget with the price INR 7990

I was thrust upon a Delphi device about a year and half ago by one of the sales guys. The maps suck and are not updated. Even the official updated ones are pretty old and the after sales service of this company SUCK!

I want to download google maps on my device. Anyone knows how to do this? I am willing to pay!
