Kindle recently released a software update for its Kindle Fire tablet. Version 6.2 is available for download and it is the second update since the original 6.0 that came during its launch. Amazon’s 6.2 update page looks similar to the 6.1 update page.
The only difference is that the page states that improvements were made to make operations of the Kindle Fire better. Additional information as to what the new update would bring is not yet available. People are still wondering what Amazon added to latest version.
Kindle Fire owners who wish to update to the new version can do so by tapping on the Quick Settings icon and click on Sync. The update would start downloading in the background and automatically install once it is completed.
Owners who rooted their Kindle Fire would lose their superuser access but there are reports coming in that it can easily be reapplied via SuperOneClick app. Users also said that it removes the Android Market from the Kindle Fire. It also takes out customizations, such as custom wallpapers, battery charge icons, and keyboards. But there were reports that the update wouldn’t remove the Android Market as well as other apps that were installed outside Amazon’s Appstore.
